What’s your style?
I think that great wedding photography is a blend of different styles – contemporary, reportage and traditional – so at each wedding I capture a set of lovely portraits, close-up shots of special details and lots and lots of natural, candid photographs of you and your guests having a wonderful time!
How much do you charge?
Please email me for details.

So, are you any good?
Yes! And I hope my portfolio speaks for itself, but for that extra assurance I have photographed 300 weddings since 2003 and am recommended by numerous award wedding venues including The Old Royal Naval College in London and The Torridon in Scotland.
These venues recommend me because they know I will do a fantastic job for their clients. In fact, when the owner’s sister got married at The Torridon, I was asked to be the photographer.
How long do family photographs take?
Not long! Before your wedding we’ll plan which photos you’d like. A good selection will include a set of close family photos and a group photo if time and space allows.
The winning formula is to photograph family groups quickly, but without them looking rushed. This means everyone’s smiles are real and not forced.
What do you wear to a wedding?
Shoes, formal trousers, shirt and tie. In other words, I’ll look as smart as your guests.
Can I see a full wedding, not just highlights?
Absolutely. Take a look at the ‘Recent Weddings‘ section of this website to see either a ‘Highlights’ or a ‘Full Wedding Gallery’ from each wedding. The Full Wedding Gallery includes the final edit for each wedding (approximately 600 photos), so you can see the whole day from beginning to end.
What equipment do you use?
For each wedding I use 2 Canon digital cameras, 6 lenses, two flash guns and lots of memory cards and batteries! I always take along a third camera as back-up just in case.
I’m also sometimes asked to shoot film to add a unique touch to the photography on the day. I’ve never stopped shooting film for all my personal projects so if you’d like a couple of rolls of black and white film taken on your day all you need to do is ask!
How much Photoshop work do you do?
Hardly any. I started my photography career shooting film – and now shoot digital with the same philosophy of ‘get it right first time’. I do adjust photos for colour and contrast but otherwise leave the images to tell their own story. I can do pretty much anything in Photoshop, but for my wedding work I decide not to use it. Otherwise today’s in-vogue Photoshop-look has the habit of quickly dating images.
I do of course use Photoshop when it helps you to look your best! For example, one bride from a few years ago had a scar on her forehead which I removed from every image in her album (as a packing box had fallen on her head a few days before the wedding…)
What do you enjoy about photographing weddings?
I love meeting new people and really enjoy the technical challenge of having to get it right every time. I got married myself last year and know how much the day meant to my wife and I and how important our photos are to us. My promise to all my clients is that they will have a wonderful photographic record of their day.
Do you just photograph weddings?
If I’m not photographing weddings I’m doing something photography related. I am often commissioned by charity and non-profit organisations and also have several long-term personal projects. You can see this work on my personal website.
My work is also regularly exhibited, I’ve written a book about digital photography and I’m also co-editor of the online photography magazine Backyard.
What happens next?
Email me, call me or pop over at a time that is good for you – I usually meet people in the evenings after work, or even on a weekend if I’m not out taking photos!
We can chat, you can see more of my work and then you can decide what you’d like to do next. So if you’d like to arrange a time to talk further, please get in touch!
